The Slider is a compact, lightweight personal defense device. It looks like an e-cigarette and delivers 4.9 milliamps of electricity to shock an attacker. It also includes a wrist strap and a mini USB charging port. Available in five different colors, the Slider stun gun is lightweight and safe for personal use. This item is not available for shipping to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Alaska, or outside of the continental United States.

When used, the stun gun is powered by one or two batteries. The amount of current output is dependent on the target’s resistance, moisture, clothing, and battery condition. Approximately half a second of shock will cause muscle contractions and a startle. The shock duration should be two to three seconds to cause the target to drop to the ground and be disoriented for several seconds. A third of a second or longer is needed for the target to fall unconscious and not make any attempt to escape.

While stun guns are a legal self-defense weapon, there are many states and cities where they are illegal. Specifically, stun guns cannot be shipped to Hawaii, Illinois, Michigan, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Generally speaking, stun guns are legal in all 50 states, and in most cities and towns, they can be concealed in a purse or a pocket. However, they are prohibited in the state of California. If you live in one of these states, you’ll need to make sure you’re an adult before purchasing a stun gun.
